The benchmark for food safety management, the Food Standard has been extensively revised to reflect revised EU legislation and continuous best practice requirements. Forest Products has attained BRC accreditation for our production and kitchen facility and in July 2009 we received an A grade.
The Standard was created to establish a standard for the supply of food products and to act as key piece of evidence for UK retailers and brand owners to demonstrate ‘due diligence*’ in the face of potential prosecution by the enforcement authorities. Certification to the Standard verifies technical competence and aids manufacturers, brand owners and retailers fulfilment of legal obligations. It also safeguards the consumer.

The retail industry, food manufacturers, importers, caterers, ingredient suppliers and the food service industry can all benefit greatly from this essential Standard. The Standard possesses a comprehensive scope covering all areas of product safety and legality, the Standard addresses part of the due diligence requirements of both the supplier and the retailer. The Standard covers such critical topics as, HACCP system, quality management, factory environment standard and product and process control.
